Browns always sources products from local and regional suppliers and is very much aware of the pressures and demands upon natural resources. Our philosophy is keep it simple and let the produce speak for itself. Showcasing classic and New British style cooking embracing traditional values and them complementing them with a modern twist. Maximising flavour through careful simplicity is the aim at Browns, being passionate about using the finest ingredients that Devon has to offer and presenting them in their best light. The finest South West food in the best local restaurant is what Browns strives for. Food at Browns Hotel Restaurant is all about our wonderful local produce. We really are blessed in this part of the country to have such an abundance and array of high quality ingredients. All our fish and shell fish arrives straight from our local fisherman, whether it be Falmouth Bay scallops, Newlyn crab or line caught sea-bass from St Ives Bay. All our meats come from farms local to Tavistock; South Devon beef, Brentor Lamb, Dartmoor Venesion and Creedy Carver Duck breast from Crediton can be sampled. We stock fantastic local beers from St Austell Brewery in Cornwall, local cider from Healey's cyder farm, a range of Luscombe organic drinks and wines from around the world including the local Yearlstone, Exe Valley - Devon. |
